This site summarizes the key features of the benefits available to eligible salaried employees of GATX Corporation. The information contained in this summary is based on the documents that govern these benefits. GATX offers several benefits that cover preventative medical, dental, and vision care; help you meet the high cost of more extensive treatment; and give you access to high quality providers in your area.

Medical Plans

Medical benefits protect you from today's soaring health care costs through your choice of three different plans: the PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) Plan, the PPO with Health Savings Account (HSA), or — in most locations — a health maintenance organization (HMO). You choose the type of coverage that best meets your family's needs. You and GATX share the cost of this coverage.

Under the PPO option:

• You pay an annual deductible.
• The plan covers most services from a network provider at 90% after you meet your deductible; most non-network care is covered at 70% after you meet your deductible.

Under the PPO with HSA option:

• Combines a higher deductible medical plan with a savings account.
• Contributions, earnings and withdrawals for qualified health care expenses are tax free.
• Participants can use the account to cover expenses that they incur under the higher deductible medical plan.

Under the HMO option:

• The plan covers in full most services you receive from an HMO provider after you pay a copayment. Generally, a primary care provider coordinates all of your care.

Dental Plans

Dental benefits encourage you to obtain regular check-ups and cleanings that help prevent more serious problems with your teeth and gums. More extensive treatment, including restorative, major repair and orthodontia for dependents, is also covered under our comprehensive dental plan. You and GATX share the cost of the comprehensive dental plan.

Vision Plan

Vision benefits help pay for periodic eye examinations, eyeglasses and contact lenses, and offer a discount on laser vision surgery. Through the Vision Plan, GATX makes it easy for your family to receive regular eye examinations, as well as purchase glasses or contact lenses at a nominal cost. The GATX Vision Plan offers the freedom to see any provider you wish by covering both network and non-network care.

Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts

The GATX Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) benefits provide financial assistance toward your annual out-of-pocket health care expenses. While your GATX medical, dental and vision coverage pays many major expenses, you often are responsible for some costs yourself. By establishing a Health Care Flexible Spending Account, you can reduce the financial impact of your out-of-pocket expenses through tax savings.

Through this system you have multiple channels to access information about your health care, disability and life benefits 24 hours a day.
